Researcher biography

Gaia Boniardi is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Chemical Engineering at The University of Queensland. Her primary research focuses on optimising enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR or BioP) systems and phosphorus recovery strategies, with the goal of promoting a circular economy for a more sustainable future. She has published more than 10 papers in international scientific journals and collaborated on several research projects with industry (wastewater and mining sector) regarding phosphorus recovery. As a member of the International Water Association (IWA), she actively participates in international conferences.
