Facilities

Our facilities have been designed and developed to foster research, teaching and learning excellence.

Pilot hall
Chemical engineering is all about creating things at scale. The new pilot hall will showcase fundamentals of process used in an ideal range of industry sectors like energy, water, bioengineering, metals, materials, gas, food, mining and petroleum.
Design studio
Chemical engineers must work collaboratively on large process designs using various modelling tools. The design studio will facilitate work-integrated group learning for students.
Learning centre
Chemical engineering graduates say the #1 feature to their UQ experience was the well-equipped student learning centres. The new learning centre is no exception and fully fitted with technology and tools to assist with student collaboration and design.
Teaching lab
State-of-the-art experimental laboratories for teaching the basics of chemical engineering is the showcase of our new building. Our hands-on labs work seamlessly with high quality lectures and research-informed progressive chemical engineering applications.

The Andrew N. Liveris Building

Global business leader and UQ alumnus Andrew N. Liveris and wife, Paula Liveris, donated $13.5 million to the University.

A generous donation that's paved the way to the 11 story Andrew N. Liveris Building - the new home to the School of Chemical Engineering.
